Talk - Act

Under this heading, we can share our ideas and concrete suggestions for action. Numbering them can help in having an ongoing dialog on any issue-current or past. By way of example:

1 In your community, are you  familiar with any popular, constructive, non-partisan efforts to solve local or national issues?
2 Do you know the names of some objective, capable journalists in your area?
3 What is the cause of unemployment in your community?
4 How can we find out if young people have sufficient opportunity to express and share their concerns or opinions?
5 Why is there a such a high incidence of sexual assault on college campuses?
6 5% of world population American; 25% of world prison population American.Why?

.....Let us continue this Q&A or dialog. Please add more to the list.

As health care professionals, we have some specific issues in mind. Before we write about it, a brief note about one parallel thought.

Of course, we face many challenges but this big country of ours has such a diversity of talent! Apart from participating in an ongoing debate related to the "Talk - Act" described above, how if                  people would also write or suggest something from their life and work experience? Obviously, direct input of citizens does promote a participatory democracy. It can certainly go a long way in solving our local or national issues.

As for us, in view of our background, we plan to make a survey of people's experience of dealing with health personnel and variety of health facilities. By listening to the patients, the families and the public, everyone benefits. Please see:

As health care professionals, we plan to make informal surveys of people's experience of health care providers--personally and online. Listening patiently to the patients, their families and the public at large can help everyone.

Please see:
www.patientlistening.com

We all know that the health care issue is a major challenge not only for America but the whole world. But then, there are many other challenges as well. Luckily here in America, we have experts in every field. How if everyone shared his or her experience or expertise through this forum? Obviously, direct input of citizens promotes a participatory democracy which goes a long way in helping solve our local or national issues.

Talk-Act Forum

Under this heading, we can share philosophical as well as practical ideas. Let us hope that ultimately these efforts lead to some concrete actions. Isn't it time that for society's ills, we start devising more curative measures, rather than taking credit for stoop-gap symptomatic relief?

To start the ball rolling, here are some issues for our "think-tank":

1 In your community, are you  familiar with any popular, constructive, non-partisan efforts to solve local or national issues?
2 Do you know the names of some objective, capable journalists in your area?
3 What are the causes of unemployment in your community?
4 How do we ask the youth if they are satisfied the way they can share or express their concerns or opinions on matters that are personal or general?
5 Why is there a such a high incidence of sexual assault on college campuses?
6 In terms of the world, the American population is 5% but its global share of the prison population is 25 %. Why?

.....Let us continue this Q&A or dialog. Please add more to the list.

(Items are numbered for a convenient reference to any future discussion.)

Charlotte Challenge
Stop destruction/ Begin Construction...!

( Apart from peaceful protests etc, concurrent, constructive actions)

1 Immediate meeting of the area citizens (Black/White/Others);
   especially, invite MULTIRACIAL couples/ colleagues from
   work-place/ sports/ entertainment world/ place of worship/ ...
2 Prepare summary of concrete, positive accomplishments of
   the "good" NGO's--especially from the neighborhoods
3 Think of ways to support these "good NGO's"
4 Develop immediate projects for needy children and their families
5 Develop new small businesses that meet simple everyday needs/
   demands of the community (Demand/Supply economic formula!)
   Encourage local entrepreneurs
6 Approach local churches, corporations, academia and community
   leaders for guidance
7 Especially, make the youth/seniors/ex-inmates/ex-drug dealers..
   part of this movement
8 Have a lottery/lucky-draw for "Positively contributing youth"?
9 Consult President Carter for a National/International perspective
   on the economic, political, cultural...issues

Right TIME in LIFE
What is the right TIME in LIFE for constructive action?

General:

1 Everyone experiences happy/unhappy feelings (major/minor), depending on individual
   circumstances
2 Everyone has empathy or sympathy for others, again depending on individual circumstances
3 In everyday life, we interact and share our thoughts and feelings in person--and online. Such
  "Moments of Humane Oneness" create true happiness as all the superficiality disappears. Nothing is
  any more fake or artificial! In this fast paced "me-world", don't we need new solutions?
  For too long, haven't we postponed thinking about such obvious issues?

No empty words; instead, a few ( 5 ) concrete actions:

1 Form groups of college students to talk about studies, jobs; practical solutions
2 Form groups from Private and government offices...AND --> How about co-workers selecting
   and helping talented colleagues (good abilities/potential) for a fast-trek development in their
   current field of work? OR they can help such promising individuals for higher education and more    challenging careers in other professions. The selected lucky few, on achieving success, should and    would hold hands of their past colleagues and help them  improve their work conditions or overall
   quality of life for their families and so on!
   Utopian? Impractical? Why not discuss/try?
3 Another "crazy" idea! (ideal?)--> Form groups of African-American students; encourage and
   support them to devise simple, local plans to help poor, needy students in Africa
4 Local surveys of citizens on how to improve physical and mental health care, e.g. how health-
   givers and "health-takers" can benefit from each others' experience and wisdom

5 Grass-roots Philosophy/"Politics" of organizing more constructive and cooperative actions to
   address local, state and national issues.........

A few questions for local communities or neighborhoods:

      1 What is the extent of poverty in your area?
      2 How many children go to bed hungry?
      3 What do you think is the standard of education in your community?
      4 How to contact thoughtful, dynamic teachers?
      5 Which are the known NGO's in your area? How do we contact some of
         their leaders?
      6 In the context of national and state problems, what kind of controversial
         issues you face locally in your area?
         Are people interested in state, national and international issues?
      7 How is healthcare in your area?
      8 In terms of daily life, culture etc, is there any tension between the
         traditional and the modern?
      9 What are the current breaking/heartbreaking news locally in your area?

         (10 We hope the questions did not tire you? How many intellectuals you
           know who won't be tired by such questions?) /;O).

         ( More later. You are welcome to suggest your own questions.
           Only serious questions, please! Only your "well-respected
           editor" has the right to be funny! Don't you ever forget that
           this is not a true democracy! Muted voices? Ask Trumputin!!   /;o).

The key is to develop an atmosphere of genuine concerns for the Common Good and build temples of
True Democracy!_-->A new Universal Faith!
Surely, there are good people everywhere and undoubtedly, they have many simple, practical ideas! Let us all share them!
Also, why not approach leading local corporations, foundations and NGO's for help/"guidance"?
This naturally leads to one question:how can an INDIVIDUAL be part of these concrete, new dynamic ideas and actions?
Let us all come up with an answer/s to this PRACTICAL QUESTION!      |:-}.

Journalistic scoop: Trump-Ryan secret agenda is presented to the public for the first time!

1 Hispanic vote: Job opportunity by hiring them to build the "wall."!
2 Muslim vote - Interest-free loans made possible through the sponsorship of Mr.Trump, since he is "filthy rich."
3 Women's vote - a) Teach them leadership skills with inspiration from Secretary Clinton's life. b) Interested, Republican elected officials should wear ladies' clothing on Fridays to show solidarity with women.
4 Homeless vote - The Trump family, under his leadership, should live on the sidewalk adjacent to the Trump Tower at least for a few hours and eat leftovers from the Tower's restaurants
5 Sanders vote - Attract Sanders' supporters to high-paying Trump campaign positions
6 Evangelical vote - Trump family should attend church regularly, en masse
7 Middle class vote - Increase Social Insecurity for them
8 Medicare - Replace with "Medicarelessness" and save money
9 Speaker Ryan should create the impression of being more human by crying more often in public, following Speaker Boehner's example
10 NRA - Encourage them to carry more toy guns
11 Support maximum tax on the poor and the minimum wage for those working for the super-rich
12 Speaker Ryan Agenda: dissuade Trump from his intention to demolish the White House and replace it with another Trump Tower (Mr. Trump emphatically and repeatedly told Ryan, "I am rich--filthy rich") Poor Speaker!
13 Grand new Republican strategy: if Hillary becomes President, consult Sen. McConnell on how to sabotage her administration from day one

( 5/ 2/ '16: Addition):

As an insider, I have witnessed disastrous results in the field of mental health due to wrong policies. The absence of rational thinking and sound judgement can create havoc in any aspect of life including politics. In this context, should we not know about our political candidates more thoroughly?

Here is a list of some issues related to Mr. Donald Trump. The people, with the help of the journalism profession, should participate in this vital analysis.They should similarly help prepare lists of questions for other candidates as well

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~.
Donald Trump: QUESTIONS!
1 Is he what he claims to be?
2 Is he truly a  successful businessman?
3 Does he really have an ability to make smart decisions--something he claims regularly and
   "brashly"?
4 Does he make use of the expertise and talents of other people?
5 Have his business style and dealings proven to be professionally and socially responsible?
6 Has he been treating his employees sensitively and fairly?
7 What do people in the know, such as current and former executives, say about his business ability,
   ethics etc.? For instance, is he a tactful negotiator?
8 Will his business record, whether it is considered a success or a failure, influence his presidency?
9 How is he as a person--nice or mean?
10 Does he have a caring, sensitive attitude towards women, minorities and the poor?
11 Compared to other super rich donors, how much has he done for the needy?
12 Are these questions fair and reasonable, applying his own standards for judging others?
 ADD your Questions?!!     /:O}.
